Anyone got any creative ideas for a wedding reception site? No one wants to call us back here in Norman! The slackers....don't they know that we will refer to all of our soon to be married friends? They are sitting on a gold mine!
The best idea posted gets a special present from me (a real present...not something corny like 10 cool points.

I really really really really wanted to have mine at the union ballroom. It's sooo beautiful! But they were having some darn alumni party there on my wedding day! Darn! So check into the ballroom.
I attended a really pretty, yet laid back and FUN reception at the Harn Homestead in OKC. By the capitol. Quite the nifty place for a more casual, spring outdoor setting type of reception. Of course, then you sweat the weather...if you are the sort to sweat.
And mine was at Applewood's restaurant. Totally turn key operation, real linens, real (GOOD) food, dance floor, etc. Remember? Was a very nice place and they did all the work. Which is a nice plus.
The Crystal Bridge makes for a nice backdrop...but boy is it humid in there! Be prepared to sweat. But I attended one totally gorgeous wedding there.
What's the plan? Formal? Casual?
Love,
Auntie Ellen
You should have it on the North Oval. Or in a casino. Or in a ballroom. Or a hotel.
